PAX West 2016

Holy shit on toast, Batman…I survived my first convention! Damn, was it crowded – but it was hellaciously fun. Meeting the Bethesda ESO team was a kick in the pants! I got some free game codes to hand out to my niece and nephews; there were some awesome costumes and displays to take pictures of, and I got a few nice T-shirts. One was free and two were not, but the free stuff wasn’t bad at all!

All four days went by very quickly, which means that I had a great time. Time flies when you’re having fun, after all! The crowds bothered me far less than I thought that they would, and I was happy to see hand sanitizer stations everywhere: outside of the restrooms, near the elevators and escalators, and right outside of the “Arena” – the place in the convention center where consoles and PCs were set up for anyone and everyone to jump on and play whichever game they wanted to.

There were four consoles and four PCs set up in the Bethesda room, all loaded up with the ESO North American (NA) client and the Public Test Server (PTS). The newest update at that time (12), which introduced One Tamriel and the dueling system, was a ton of fun to test out while they streamed LIVE ON TWITCH for all four days! I got completely rekt by one of the gaming designers on the live-stream, and my smiling face can also be seen by those who know and love me. It was all too awesome!

Time for me to test out a few new in-game settings and recording settings! My new webcam also arrived and I plan on hooking it up to see how it performs, but only after I get the pictures downloaded from my phone for future posts. I took quite a few so I hope that they turn out!

It’s Friday and I’m in a fantastic mood, so enjoy this bit of random silliness to get your weekend started off right.

Progress & Updates

The weather has been great over the past couple of weeks, which has enabled us to tackle some of the yardwork and landscaping projects around the house.

New neighbors require a better privacy screen, so the riot of bamboo in the back yard is now lining the fence between our property and theirs. It looks perfect, and I love taking my first morning cup of coffee outside to stand and listen to the leaves rustling in the breeze. A fresh load of compost was delivered and spread yesterday, which should keep the bamboo happy and thriving.

The birds have been active with nest-building and the lawn-scraps make perfect material for them to use. The deer have been running about as well. The young stags are already trying to assert their dominance and territories, even with the velvet still covering their growing antlers.

I’m still gaming and have finally gotten all programs functioning properly. I can now broadcast gaming sessions on Twitch or Facebook, and will soon have new recorded sessions up on my YouTube account. I updated my gaming links as well; go to the ‘Multimedia Links’ page here on my blog to get the new addresses.

Working out and writing round out my daily activities. I have more than enough to make a real publisher happy. I just have to find the right one. Slow progress, but forward-moving all the same. No complaints here.

Wordless Wednesday: Scenic Screen-Shots

I will be periodically live-streaming my gaming sessions Friday and over the weekend as the ESO anniversary event draws to a close. Sorting of screen-shots and adding to my fan fiction is ongoing.

Here’s a small selection of some of my most recent in-game screen-shots, as promised! In these images I’m exploring the new, steampunk-styled land of The Elder Scrolls Online, the awesome game that I enjoy playing. I’ll be live-streaming some gameplay later on this evening, so tune in to my Twitch channel if you’re awake, grab a drink and a snack, and watch the fun!

Sampling a freshly-made batch of the old crone’s brew.

Flame-inspired meditation in the forest…very relaxing.

A new tree has sprung up in the garden of the grand manor…

It is certainly an interesting addition!

The entrance to the city of cogs and gears.

What the…? I’m shrinking!

Facing off against an army of automatons…

There – that should take care of them!

The new scenery is fascinating, and quite pleasing to the eye.

New quests and adventures await the intrepid explorer!

Paying due homage to the Mad God, with offerings of meat pies and cheese. Will he heed my humble request?

A friendly crow delivers a personal, welcome message…

Yes – success! Sheer perfection.

Happy Friday: 15 January 2016 (Re-blogged)

Happy Friday, everyone! Enjoy these three select songs from January of 2016 while I begin my weekend gaming session.

Amazing how all of the followers that I used to have disappeared after Baby-Hands McDrumpf took office! It appears that they were his supporters, and took offense to my distaste. It is what it is! C’est la vie. Now that I’m on Facebook, I’ll have more ESO gamers reading and following me. So much for the ‘supportive’ and ‘inclusive’ WordPress ‘community.’

Nothing really to say today, so here are three songs about “she.” Guess what? “She” – is me!

Shameless Gaming Promo: Mid-Year Mayhem! (Re-blogged)

I’m happy to announce the fourth installment of an in-game, seasonal event: Mid-Year Mayhem will be celebrated in the battlefields and war-zone of The Elder Scrolls Online! As you might recall, the first event was the Witches’ Festival in October of last year. Shameless Gaming Promo: Mid-Year Mayhem!

I’m happy to announce the fourth installment of an in-game, seasonal event: Mid-Year Mayhem will be celebrated in the battlefields and war-zone of The Elder Scrolls Online! As you might recall, the first event was the Witches’ Festival in October of last year. That was followed by the New Life Festival in December, which began on the Solstice and ended around the New Year.

The Vernal Equinox was celebrated with the Jester’s Festival, where one of the mementoes that could be earned was a branch of Sakura (桜 or 櫻): you can festoon fellow gamers and guild-mates with a shower of fragrant flower-petals whenever you wish. If you’re feeling particularly salty, you can spatter others with a nice, wet, gooey ball of mud – watch their avatars grunt in disgust as they try to shake and scrape off the filth!

Anyway, the mayhem begins at 0700 PDT, and I will be streaming some of the gaming madness live throughout the weekend. Click the link here to bookmark my Twitch channel, then tune in to watch the insanity. I will also be testing out some recording in another attempt to get some new footage posted on my YouTube channel, in order to utilize that medium much more than I have been…so keep your eyeballs peeled!

Sunday Screen-Shots & Scenery…

This first weekend of summer has been perfect! Sunshine and temperatures in the low 80s made for the perfect barbecue: fresh salmon, corn on the cob, broccoli, and water infused with cucumber, strawberries, and mint. That was finished with a nice serving of hand-cranked ice cream! You can’t beat a summertime feast with family and friends. In light of that, enjoy some sunny, serene, in-game scenery! No image descriptions this time around…just sit back and enjoy the view.
