Full Moon Thursday!

Well, it’s a shame that The Nightly Show, hosted by Larry Wilmore, has been cancelled. This is his final week, and tonight will be his final show, so I decided to post a few of his best clips…watch them while you can! Also, since there is a full moon tonight, I picked a nice song for all to enjoy. Remain entertained while I try to figure out how I locked my phone – I can’t get my pictures off of it, now! I know that I wanted it to be secure, but I guess that I secured it a little TOO well…

Finally – A Bit o’ Rest & Relaxation… *** UPDATED 22 July 2016 ***

I can relax and be lazy again, for a bit! No, nothing to do with that dreaded jury duty – at least, not yet! I still have one day tentatively scheduled, which I get to call about tomorrow to see if it’s still on.

I’ve been busy out in the yard and the garden, tending the plants and shrubberies whilst letting the grasses grow tall – the birds, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, and raccoons enjoy the shelter and food provided by the abundant overgrowth. The honeysuckle near the kitchen window smells sweetly fragrant whenever I open the window and let the cross-breeze blow through. I’ve planted rosemary, thyme, and lavender near the front door – honeybees and bumble-bees seem to have multiplied since I put them there last month. Tiny green frogs hide in the bushes during the day, staying out of sight of the snakes. Yeppers, there are small snakes in the bamboo and the rhododendrons! I love looking out and seeing if I can spy some critter moving about in the branches…I want to mount a camera in various places around my house sometime, just to see what wanders through.

What else…well, today marks the birth anniversary of the late, great Robin Williams, who is sorely missed these days…I’d love to see his take on the current political atmosphere, for sure! He, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin – it would give me joy to hear their conversation, were they dining in some great feasting-hall in the afterlife, for the true entertainers! Still, I can’t complain about the daily offerings of my faves: Trevor Noah, Larry Wilmore, Stephen Colbert, and Samantha Bee have been crushing the politicians left and right…literally and figuratively! I have to search to find the gems that John Oliver and Bill Maher dish out, and I dearly hope that Jessica Williams finds a place where she can really shine – I want to see her comments off the chain and uncensored, LOL! Speaking of comedies, you simply must check out the sitcom “Wrecked” if you haven’t done so already! No description of mine can do it justice – so, if you are able to find the pilot episode, watch it and judge for yourselves…I refuse to give spoilers! I hope that, by now, you are finding and enjoying the hidden links interspersed throughout this post!

Ah, what else…oh, yes – I simply have to say this: Melania Drumpf is a plastic-faced, plagiarist cunt. Period. Yes, she speaks five languages. Guess what? Most people from countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia tend to be multi-lingual, and most Americans are ignorant of that fact. I was fortunate enough to meet a multitude of “foreign exchange students” when I was growing up in Alaska, and their command of many languages – not counting their native tongues – was phenomenal. That anorectic slag is actually a remedial in her home country, when it comes down to it. I mean, seriously: if she were superior, she would be running her own engineering firm! Trust that I am resentful of the fact that my education system didn’t allow for learning multiple languages from K – 12. I despise that my country of birth has been set on erasing the cultures and languages of all non-white U.S. residents since before its inception…and yet, does everything to resurrect, co-opt, corrupt and “white-wash” the very cultures that have been erased and eradicated.

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is in full swing, and once again, I am not in attendance…sacrilege! I hold out hope for next year, when holding to my budget will be more feasible. For instance, my son signed the lease to his own apartment so a visit and celebratory dinner was in order! We’ve been cleaning house here and there, and had some things that we didn’t need, so some nice furniture and assorted appliances went for his use: a dining table, computer desk, four chairs, and a bookcase. Copper-bottomed pans, coffee cups, eating utensils, and a nice Seattle Seahawks blanket were also appreciated – his bachelor pad is fully-functional!

I save a bit of money by doing my hair at home, for the most part. I still need a decent touch-up now and again, and am sorely overdue for one, but I’m able to keep my hair done with the purchase of a top-quality steamer / dryer. It helps me keep my dreads soft and smelling great, and I bought it on Amazon for an excellent price.

Last but not least, my fitness goals are now much closer in sight than they previously were: I’m the proud owner of a very high-quality home gym! I hate going to fitness clubs, because they seem to be quite unsanitary and are far too time-consuming. I want to work out and go, not sit and wait for some sweaty hairbag to quit talking to some she-male’s implants. People never wipe the equipment when they’re done, either – you ever notice that? That right there is the biggest time-waster: cleaning up the weight machines after everyone else, because the so-called “gym attendants” are way too busy posing for their imaginary magazine cover, to actually do the job of equipment maintenance.

Digressing…I have been beaming all week long. I’ve been looking for the perfect home gym and finally have it – I can plan my perfect workout and fitness regimen! I have my elliptical, bicycle, and kettlebells…now, I have my circuit-training machine. I’m elated and ecstatic, especially now that I have an excuse to buy some nice workout gear, LOL! I might even do some posts about my progress, especially if I can surpass how fit I used to be. Working out is something that I’ve always enjoyed; I’ve always maintained that just because I’m a gamer, doesn’t mean that I have to look like the stereotype of one! I’ve never been content with “average” – it might be a blessing; it might be a curse, but I am an overachiever and probably always will be. I set my own high standards for myself…which is how it should be!

Friday, 13 May…2016!!!

Happy Friday, all – and it’s the 13th, LOL! I love this day and always have…I’ve never understood the superstition of bad luck that’s supposed to be associated with the number, but I think it actually has some obscure biblical reference, if I’m not mistaken. Something to do with the “Last Supper?” Meh – something like that. I’m not bothered enough to look it up, so there you have it!

😎

Let’s see…what is going on in the world today? Well, I can say that I feel badly for the parents of Trayvon Martin, who have to relive the murder of their son YET AGAIN because of the unconscionable actions of the subhuman shit-stain who murdered him in cold blood. I can’t say that what he did recently surprises me, because the actions of complete fuckwads tend to be impossible to understand by those of us who possess a brain, a soul, and some semblance of self-control. I can think of only one good use for that firearm…and that’s all I will say!

👿

What else? Oh, there was a story that the late-night talk shows were laughing about, something to do with China cracking down on websites that show women eating bananas in a “seductive” manner. I’m not into fruit, personally, but there are definitely some freaks out there who think that fruits and vegetables are erotic – I’m guessing that they’re “hard-core” vegans, ROFL! Some creepy dude has a photography blog; one post prominently displays a picture of a woman eating a banana, and has a supposedly “titillating” title. I’m not sure if she knew he was taking the picture or not; at any rate, it seems to be his top-rated post, so fruit fetishes are common, it would appear!

I’m in a good mood – the sun is shining so it’s time to get outside and take more pictures…I’m trying to capture some nice shots of the plants that have exploded around my house, as well as more pictures of the deer. The fawn from last year is sporting some fuzzy nubs on his forehead this year – so, there will be another young buck running around with the big ones during the next rut, it would seem!

My calendar tells me that today is the birthday of two awesome people: musician, producer and songwriter Stevie Wonder, and actor, comedian, and singer Stephen Colbert. In their honour, I’ve posted a great Stevie Wonder song, and a clip from the first show that I saw Stephen Colbert in: Strangers With Candy. Enjoy, and have a great weekend…gamer posts coming soon!

Random Thursday Thoughts…5 May 2016

Ah…remember when? Do you remember all of those bright, shining, hopeful faces? It seems like an eternity ago – and now we know who the Republican nominee is. Just think about it for a moment, people…let it sink in. Just contemplate – without emotion, if you can. Me? I’m still munching my popcorn and swilling my beer, because this spectacle is fantastic to watch. It has its own terrible beauty, in a way!

Thank goodness that I’m an ISTP, and that my Moon is in Virgo – that seems to settle down the Aries Sun and Leo Ascendant at times, especially during this retrograde Mercury! My mind goes into mechanical mode – I tap into the geeky, nerdy ‘Dilbert’ brain and dissect, deconstruct, and dismantle things…internally of course! I’m not shredding things, LOL – although, if I knew how to play a guitar, I would shred on it for a bit! For example, it’s annoying when a person thinks that they need to “man-splain” something to me…but it’s downright loathsome when someone thinks that they need to “white-splain” something!

Many people that I try to talk with seem to be angry. Others are frightened. Quite a few others seem extraordinarily depressed, or in unknown states of distress. Inquiries garner no meaningful response, which causes me to withdraw. If you don’t want my time or attention, then fair enough! I won’t waste either of those precious resources on those who don’t want it. Watering the Sahara would reap more rewards, for me – and besides, desert flowers are beautiful!

I’m putting the final touches on my verbal thrashings, especially since a bit of analytical digging uncovered something very amusing – so, I have to re-write part of my posts for accuracy. They will be worth the wait, though!

Enjoy a few images from the political circus this past week (and last month), along with a bit of music…and, I hope that you found my choice hidden links!

Not Again…

Sorry, but I’m interrupting my planned posts…because while I was checking my emails, I saw a news headline that just floored me. Seriously? AGAIN?!? What in the ever-living hell is wrong with people? WTF is going on???

No. You know what? I’m posting some links below. Just watch, listen, and / or read…open your mind for a bit. Here are some ugly truths that many want to ignore and hide from. If I lose readers and followers, so be it. I’m not one who has ever backed down from calling shit what it is.

F**K it Friday!!!

LOL – no, I’m not in a bad mood. A little snarky, feeling aggro and frustrated, perhaps, but not necessarily in a bad mood! Exasperatedly amused is another way to describe how I’m feeling, I suppose. What is causing this consternation? Simple: nobody knows how to socialize face-to-face anymore! I used to think that I was socially inept because I could read people TOO well and never played the ‘social butterfly’ at parties. I’m a very sensitive ISTP, meaning that I feel drained by people sometimes. My husband’s energy can be chaotic – mine can too, of course – but it grates on me when I’m trying to relax and focus.

Anyway, back to the topic: socializing. The way people socialize has (d)evolved dramatically with the age of the internet, and it appears I have to catch up with the times. Face-to-face interactions are now done on webcam, through mediums like Skype or Twitch. People ‘stream’ themselves into other’s homes, virtually. Mere conversations aren’t enough…the pressure to prove that one isn’t a robot or a bottom-feeding ‘catfish’ seems constant. At the same time, every so-called ‘social’ website seems to do little more than create drama and nonsense, especially among those whose need for attention drives them to interfere in the lives and relationships of others. People create phony online personas out of sheer boredom, not caring about whose lives they might turn upside-down.

I like my privacy and my ‘fortress of solitude’ – but, I also know that I have to be a little more open if I’m going to sell my books. I have to step outside of my walls and my comfort zone…and I hate it. I don’t want to, but I have to. Sometimes in life, we have to do the things we don’t like to get ahead and accomplish a life-long dream. I have to be seen, be known, and become familiar to others. I have to put in ‘face-time’ – and that really chafes my buttocks!

Time for a bit of honesty and levity from the past week. I watch The Daily Show, The Nightly Show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Conan O’Brien regularly – they are my main means of getting news and information without raging or weeping…a dose of comedy eases the bad taste of events around the world. Below are three great discussions – enjoy!

The Nightly Show: Science vs. Religion

The Late Show: Stephen is a sexy teenaged vampire!

Thursday Thoughts…1 October 2015

Well – ’tis a new month! October is here…the year is nearing its end. It sure has flown by; thankfully, I am taking it easy on myself and not putting too much pressure on not meeting some deadlines that I’d hoped to. Part of the reason is that I am facing more disruptions than usual lately…and no, they aren’t game-related! If only they were, LOL – then I’d just shrug and say, “Yep – I’ve been busy gaming and procrastinating!” But, that isn’t the case. More on that later…

I’m pleased to note that I have a total of 82 followers so far! I’d like to say “welcome” to all – as always, I encourage new readers (and old) to check out my ‘About’ page…that will give you a gist of what to expect from my little corner of the interwebs! I have an odd sense of humour and sometimes swear like a sailor, but I’m not a bad person just for having a bit of a foul mouth. I try to keep it in line, but I’m not going to mince words if I feel strongly about something. Anyway, nice to make your acquaintances; if I haven’t followed your respective blogs yet (those of you who have them), please have patience – sometimes I have a hard time finding them! Apologies, too, if it seems that I re-post more than I write, of late – I’ve been reading many more blogs, and many times have found some gems that I think are worth sharing. I also have another installment of my gaming fan fiction coming up…I will do my best to publish it tomorrow morning.

Since it is a new month, I figured I’d check out the news and see what’s been happening in the world lately – seems to be the usual. Politics and the Trump sideshow. Pope Francis visiting the United States, and having some sort of meeting with that hateful wretch down in Tennessee. The head of Planned Parenthood being raked over the coals and verbally slammed into silence at some hearing. More shootings – another seemingly in progress as I type this. An “active shooter” has been reported at Umpqua College in Roseburg, Oregon.

The girls abducted from the school in Chibok, Nigeria, have been away from their families and loved ones for 535 days, now…the days keep adding up. It’s a sad tally, no? That’s one thing I am hopeful for, every day: that they are returned safely and supported in their healing process…their ordeal is surely an unimaginable horror that only other victims could possibly understand.

I’m thoroughly enjoying Trevor Noah as host of the Daily Show – the writing is still great, and he’ll relax into his role as lead anchor as he takes a firmer hold on the reigns of the show. Larry Wilmore continues to entertain as he informs; I absolutely loved it when he had Ahmed Mohammed on his show! Stephen Colbert has been awesome, of course – his notable guests have included First Lady Michelle Obama, actress Lupita Nyong’o, author Stephen King, Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. The interviews have been excellent!

Well, that’s it for now from me. On a final note, I finally got a webcam…apparently, those little contraptions are necessary for promoting things like books!

😉

Friday Theme Day!

The title says it all…enjoy.

😉

LOL – “Deez Nutz” for president, 2016!

“Intelligent Abnormal” – I resemble that remark!

😀

Did you catch the theme? I hope so. Closing with a good song…see ya tomorrow!

Jumping right on in: may I say that I’m tired of politics already? Ye gawds…2016 seems so far away, even though it’s already halfway through August, which is more than halfway through this year. The so-called presidential ‘campaign’ is already taking its toll. Yes, Jon Stewart is no longer at The Daily Show, but Trevor Noah will soon be taking the helm – that will be awesome. To my knowledge, he debuts on Monday, 28 September. Stephen Colbert will launch his show on Tuesday, 8 September, and the new Doctor Who series airs on BBC America on Saturday, 19 September – so I’m set. In the meantime, Larry Wilmore and Conan O’Brien have my political information at the ready, so that I can deal with all of the horror involved in politics, and the news in general, without feeling the need to weep uncontrollably. I can actually watch and laugh at the idiocy of it all. Speaking of which, here are two links to the most recent episodes of The Nightly Show. They are well worth watching, IMHO!

Also, here’s a re-posting of one of the funniest video game reviews that I’ve ever seen – just because!

What else…oh, yeah – baseball! The Seattle Mariners helped make MLB history last night in their 10-inning, 6 – 5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Every team that played at their home stadium yesterday came away with a victory on the same day…that’s 15 teams. First time ever!

Austin Jackson, who hit the winning run, gets doused by team-mate Logan Morrison

Hisashi Iwakuma pitches a perfect no-hitter in his first complete major-league game

Secondly, Hisashi Iwakuma pitched a perfect no-hitter today, elevating the Mariners to a delicious 3 – 0 win over Baltimore! It was the first time that an A.L. team had pitched one since…well, when “King” Felix Hernandez did it on 15 August 2012! Ah, I love my team…win or lose, I really enjoy watching them. At the end of the baseball season, I plan on doing my usual tribute to my favourite players of the season, as well as a small recap of the top three or five Mariners commercials. There are always some great ones, LOL

I’m working on a huge, nerdly, self-indulgent project that involves Twitch, learning live-streaming, and gaming, although learning that Amazon owns Twitch and it’s been hacked fairly recently makes me a bit nervous. I sincerely hope that I don’t need a camera on my computer; if so, then I’m not doing it, LOL

In nerd-speak, my project essentially involves this:

Gotta hook up the TS chat-line and group with some friends and guild-members to do a major zerg-ball on the castle. First, though, we have to do an extended siege and get some point-farming done on the bridge, because we can expect the heaviest resistance there. Watch out for the gank-squads on the way; we have some spotters hunkered down at the well to take out any noobs, and we have some small scouting squads checking the outpost perimeter so that they can’t flag it and cut off our mode of transport if you need to rez. Take care if you see the emperor or empress – you’ll get rekt hardcore and they will t-bag you mercilessly if you make a move on them!

Sorry if that wasn’t understandable…I speak geek (and Klingon, if you really must know)!

Finally, don’t forget to cast your vote on if you think I should change my avatar or leave it the same. The link to the post with the vote in it is here – I hope that I don’t have the settings buggered on it!

Friday Feelings… ** UPDATED **

I’m still speechless…too sad and sickened to think or speak. Flags fly at half-mast across South Carolina – except for that last symbol of the CSA. How filthy and disgusting that nobody will lower it, or remove it for the weekend EN-FUCKING-TIRELY. Even more filthy and disgusting are the comments of white supremacists on their sites – I found one whilst looking for these images; some site named Vice has them. That’s all I’m going to say for now…it’s all that I can say.
