Friday Funnies

Musical Monday

It’s Monday and time for a bit of music since “Last Week Tonight” had no new episode this week.

I’m often amused over people’s reactions to the most innocuous things, and laugh out loud at those who try to push other people’s buttons when they get offended over nothing. It just goes to show how miscommunications and misunderstandings happen regularly, especially on the interwebs.

For me, speaking with people is always best done in person so that facial expressions and body language can be seen, or vocal tone can be heard and discerned. Much is lost on many levels without face-to-face communication.

This isn’t a complaint or a gripe, it is a personal observation. I think that there are some out there who might agree with this observation if they were willing to be honest with themselves.

I’m not holding my breath.

Tuesday Afternoon

September already. The year has flown by quickly since time flies when one is having fun!

My Facebook, Twitch, and Instagram accounts have a modest following. I love the fact that I haven’t had to jump through ridiculous hoops to gain an audience, and the support is genuine. People actually notice your participation and give you props.

The local air has finally cleared of the smoke from the fires in and around Washington state. Usually the coast isn’t affected much by fires further inland, but the weather patterns this year made for no offshore winds and stagnant air pressed down on us like an old, dusty veil.

Now that the air is better we could finish up some of the yardwork and landscaping begun over a month ago. The shrubberies have been cut back to reasonable size again, and the local deer have come through to graze on the clippings and the foliage they couldn’t reach. Plenty of new fawns this season mean that they are healthy and still got plenty to eat and drink, even with the lack of rain.

People are back at work after the holiday weekend and school has resumed for those who attend regularly. It’s a nice Tuesday afternoon, so here are three songs for your audial appreciation.

Half-Assed Laziness

I’ve seen many examples of half-assed laziness during my now-ended search for worthwhile blogs to read and follow. I found a better platform for my more serious concerns and discussions, so this blog of mine is now my party place solely dedicated to music, gaming, and other forms of entertainment.

The blogs I’ve found, unfortunately, have simply been clones of the same blog but given a different name and a slightly different theme and layout. The obvious clue is the followers, who always seem to be the same people, saying the exact same thing in the comment sections on the cloned blogs.

The so-called authors of same are so lazy that they only see fit to re-blog their own content on their other blogs, whilst claiming to be “hubs” for the blogging masses to find each other in.

Talk about half-assed laziness. If you’re going to be that lazy, then at least try to use your whole ass.

I’m sure that it’s big enough, due to sitting online 24 / 7 desperately seeking any sort of attention from anyone and doing anything and everything to get said attention.

😉

Too Funny

I was laughing at the ridiculous ‘referrals’ in the WordPress Reader. Whatever algorithm is used, it appears to be broken because the referrals make no sense.

For example: I have no need for pregnancy advice, yet the first three ‘referred’ sites involved pregnancy and childbirth. I can definitely give advice on those subjects since I’ve experienced them personally, but I’m not in need.

Hilarious, ridiculous, and tedious. I found the best way to get rid of that bullshit, though. Time for some site cleanup.

How Far Back?

The gaslighting and race-baiting from the neo-fascists has exploded over the past week as this country is taken back to the 1950s.

This is what “taking the country back” meant when Drumpf used it as his political platform, and what it continues to mean for he and his racially-charged supporters.

As expected, they resort to the logical fallacies listed in the chart below in order to defend the indefensible.

History repeats itself, and this country isn’t immune to regression. So much for “never again.”

Such Ugliness

There it is again: that selfish self-centeredness which is the hallmark of your life.

All the cosmetic procedures in the world can’t hide how ugly you really are.

After all, a beautiful personality always shines through and needs no artificial enhancements.

Your ugliness shows in everything you think, say, and do.

It’s a wonder that anyone can stand your soul-sucking presence for any length of time.

They must be paid well.

Sub Re-Upped

I updated my payment information and renewed my WordPress.

It feels good to pay my own way and not beg money from others.

It takes a special kind of thief and coward to take money from people who can barely afford to take care of themselves.

Nobody is twisting the arms of people who willingly throw money down a wishing well, though.

I guess they get, and deserve, what they paid for.

Predictable Patterns

There are predictable patterns in nature.

The cycle of the seasons, the phases of the moon, the turning of the tides, or the migration of certain animals spring to mind.

Some people are equally predictable. Just wind them up and watch them go.

Little clockwork contrivances.

Some are amusing, but only for short periods of time. They wear out quickly.

One Song On Sunday

This single song is an informal tie-in for tomorrow’s re-blog. “Tomorrow” is solely based on my time zone.

No need for me to specify. Those who understand will be appreciative.

I could count the number on one hand.
