5 On Friday: Musical Favourites

The new year arrives 10 days from today.

I have updated, edited, and streamlined my ‘About’ page and ‘Comment Policy.’ This blog page will still be titled ‘sepultura13,’ but the tags of ‘Random Ramblings’ and ‘Myriad Musings’ appear to be overused and worn out. The new header for this blog will be revealed in the new year.

For this “5 on Friday” post I offer the songs which used to grace my ‘About’ page. There is one minor song change but I think that it will go unnoticed. Nobody really read the page to begin with. C’est la vie.

Friday Fun-Time: “Hollow-Day” Edition! (Re-blogged)

This post from last year deserved a re-airing on its anniversary.

Eyrie Of An Aries

Ah, December…the month where everyone that you know is suddenly going overboard with shoving holiday cheer down your throat, and blowing so much crap up your arse you feel like you’re going to fart snowflakes, tinsel, and candy canes! All of this hollow “good-will” starts well before Hallowe’en, mind you, so some of us are beyond sick of xmas before the end of November. That, combined with the paranoid screeching about the nonsensical, imaginary “war” on xmas has me completely over the whole “peace on Earth” thing which doesn’t seem to exist, as of late. I’m not a pessimist; It isn’t about the glass being “half-full” or “half-empty,” I just look at the reality of a situation and call it what it is.

I’ve been noticing an interesting trend for at least a decade: the amount of “hard-luck” stories explode exponentially during this time of year, and have gotten worse…

New Life Festival Screen-Shots: 1st Post 2017! (Re-blogged)

This in-game festival has returned, with new items and rewards to earn. I’ll take some screen-shots and post them when the event is over. Here’s a re-blog of images taken from last year.

😎

Eyrie Of An Aries

Well, here we are…1 January of 2017! I say “1st Post 2017,” because it is my first original post typed with my own fingers, not a re-blog of someone else’s post. I’m going to be doing some gaming and live-streaming the footage if the program decides to cooperate. In the meantime, please enjoy these in-game screen-shots that I took while taking part in the New Life Festival. I’m enjoying the fun, seasonal things that are being added to the game – they’re very entertaining. I’m also looking forward to checking out the player housing on the Public Test Server in a week or so! I usually don’t do ‘spoilers,’ but I really want to see what’s in store.

Talk at you all later!

Sunday Screen-Shots: Jester’s Festival!

Beginning last year, seasonal festivities began in my favourite MMO, the Elder Scrolls Online. The first one, appropriately titled the Witches’ Festival, was in October. The second one, held in December, was called the New Life Festival.

With the advent of Spring, the Jester’s Festival is in full swing – perfect timing as April Fool’s Day / All Fool’s Day draws near! Here are a few screen-shots of my various characters making merry, playing pranks, and having all sorts of fun with other players. Sometimes, one has to stop and smell the sakura ( / )!

I’ll have live footage of my festival antics broadcasting shortly. I think that people know where to find the link by now, so tune in and watch the show!

Savage Smilodon

A happy merry-maker

Marketplace merriment

Dancing at dawn

Playing with fire

Kicking back

Flashy fireworks

Dazzling the crowds

A sprightly dance – see the staff?

I found the Lord of Misrule: Drumpf the Jester-King!

Random Friday Ramblings…23 December 2016!

It’s Friday…whoo-hoo!!! I always love Fridays, whether I’m working or not – go figure, eh? Anyway, I just put in my annual calendar order today, along with some necessary, much-needed workout gear. It’s been a while since I bought workout clothes, and what’s really funny is that my workout gear doubles as ideal gaming gear! So, to bore you all to tears, here is what I wear whilst working out or gaming…and hard-core gamers know that an intense PvP gaming session, or a mindless XP grind, is a workout in and of itself, LOL!

DISCLAIMER: I receive no compensation for the products that I use, so this is strictly my opinion only! Would I love to get some free gear and do a review? Sure! But, I’m not on Facebook – that’s why I don’t get free products. I pay real money for what I use, LOL

😎

First off, I prefer Tommie Copper clothing. Comfort, durability, fit, and it looks good on me – those are the reasons I like it. Other fitness brands just look ugly to me, and seem to be made for anorexics who do nothing but spinning classes. I do circuit training and yoga, mainly. My elliptical machine is for fall and winter, or rainy days in the spring and summer, but I enjoy getting out on my bicycle and riding on the beach. I’m still on the lookout for a decent rowing machine, too – almost got one at the same time I bought my weight machine, but it was already sold out…so, I’ll keep looking!

Anyway, the workout gear is this:
-Gloves
-Compression wrist supports
-Comfort / support top
-Back brace (upper-body workout days)
-Compression shorts
-Knee supports (or full-leg compression for lower-body / leg exercises)
-Compression ankle supports
-Vibram(R) Five-fingers(T) shoes

For gaming, I wear the gloves and the wrist supports, a t-shirt with a smart-ass saying on it (for proper gaming saltiness), and jeans or yoga pants. Others can schlub about in house-coats or sweats…not me! Comfortable doesn’t need to be slovenly, ROFL

XD

I planned on writing up a schedule for my live gaming broadcasts, but it’s impossible to do with such a temperamental computer. Actually, the computer isn’t temperamental – either the Twitch program decides that it doesn’t want to work some days, or the ESO game itself is! There are always random crashes that happen whilst gaming, especially during ‘special events’ such as the ongoing ‘New Life Festival,’ but they’re expected. When one has been gaming for as long as I have, bugs and crashes are a given – so, we just roll with it and wait out the inevitable patches! Speaking of special stuff…player housing is FINALLY coming to ESO, and I can’t wait – I’m ready to check it out on the Public Test Server (PTS) when it gets loaded there in January! It should be interesting, to say the least. Below is a short video showing some of the houses that will be available.

Well, that’s it from me for now – time for some gaming! If you want to watch, click on the ‘Multimedia Links’ at the top of my blog and find the Twitch channel…if it says ‘LIVE,’ that means I’m online and the programs are cooperating with me, LOL

Otherwise, enjoy these three selected songs…happy Friday, all! Oh, while I’m on the subject of music – please don’t go reading something into the songs that I play. People get all bent out of shape or butthurt over my music, when I’m simply playing what I want to hear, when I want to hear it, if I’ve been inspired by reading or writing! I don’t do hidden meanings – now, if I do a theme-related post, that’s another thing entirely! Talk at you all later…

Friday Fun-Time: “Hollow-Day” Edition!

I’ve been noticing an interesting trend for at least a decade: the amount of “hard-luck” stories explode exponentially during this time of year, and have gotten worse with the popularity of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other “social” media sites. There was a story reported on the local news last month that I wanted to cite, but it is no longer available on the specific local station’s website, meaning it was exactly what I suspected it was – a fake, “hard-luck” story!

I can think of some recent posts that I’ve read on other blogs which deal with same, and it would appear that misery loves company if you gauge the amount of commentary following said posts. Panhandling has moved from the street-corner to the living-room.

In light of that, I’m going to share a few of my own personal Thanksgivoween and Hannukkwaanzamas favourites. I was reminded of a song that used to be played on the local Seattle radio station KZOK-FM around this time of year, and after years of searching, I managed to find it again – it only took me 13 years to do so, LOL!

(The other video I had up was way funnier, but isn’t allowed to be played here! Click on this link for the better version)

Finally, here are my top three “hollow-day” favourites to close out this post. My sense of humour isn’t easily understood, so don’t expect anything warm and fuzzy. Have a great weekend; I have to get back to the New Life Festival activities in Tamriel! Later, gators…
