One Song on Sunday

The rain is easing up around here – finally! Makes viewing the beautiful full moon much easier. Mercury is turning retrograde as well, so here is my single song pick for the day.

Sunday Songs & Silliness: Mercury Retrograde Memes!

Mercury turns retrograde at 1614 PDT. Time to reflect on things, revise plans and goals, and see what is revealed when you reassess certain events. Sometimes things can be repaired; other times, retreat is a necessity. Enjoy these thoughtful and silly memes, along with a bit of music. I decided to play “connect-the-songs” this time around; let’s see if those of you who are REALLY reading this can spot how it was done! I hope that your respective weekends are going well – later, ‘gators!

Tuesday Tunes: Mercury Retrograde Edition, December 2016!

Yep, it’s that time again…Mercury retrograde in Capricorn and Sagittarius, meaning double-trouble for my attempts at communicating with anyone! No wonder some people got all pissy and bent out of shape at me recently, LOL! Oh well, that’s how it goes…fecal matter doth occur! In light of that, here are three songs which articulate this perfectly. It’s also Solstice eve, and I’m working on a nice little post for tomorrow, which is the shortest day of the year. Music and pictures will abound! See you all later…

Random Pictures…13 September 2016!

Fishing on the Columbia River near Astoria, Oregon. The Astoria-Megler Bridge is in the distance.

I’m currently attempting to get my webcam to work…Windows 10 interferes with things that used to be simple plug-and-play, it seems! I could at least get some of the programs to (barely) function on my old computer, once I cranked it up and made it cooperate; this new rig has its own mysteries for me to solve, with or without the computer tech guy! I will figure this shit out…trust me on that!

In the meantime, enjoy these random pictures I took over the past few months, while I maintain an even temperament whilst dealing with frustrating technology. Mercury retrograde isn’t going to thwart me, LOL!

We saved this little frog! He was hiding in the “sun-room” area of the shop, which should be the workout room since it has most of the gym equipment in it. Notice the colouring? All speckled like the concrete that lines the floor – just a tiny strip of green on its back:

The day after rescuing the frog, this interesting-looking beetle decided to say “hello.” I’m not sure if it’s a ground-dweller, a tree-dweller, or a swimmer!

There is a small “water feature” in a corner of the property. Two years ago, we went out and dug up a big hunk of water-lily root that had three leaves on it and put it in the feature for a bit of greenery. In June of this year, right around the Summer Solstice, it looked like this:

During the small heat wave we had at the end of August, it looked like this:

Did you count the leaves?
😉

Speaking of plants, check out this cool little cluster of flowers! One of my happy indoor plants, that I never knew bloomed, has been sprouting these like crazy – I have no idea what the plant is called, but I like these little stars:

Finally, some shots of food…just because!

Now I’m craving sushi…but it’s a two-hour drive away!

Random Thursday Thoughts…5 May 2016

Ah…remember when? Do you remember all of those bright, shining, hopeful faces? It seems like an eternity ago – and now we know who the Republican nominee is. Just think about it for a moment, people…let it sink in. Just contemplate – without emotion, if you can. Me? I’m still munching my popcorn and swilling my beer, because this spectacle is fantastic to watch. It has its own terrible beauty, in a way!

Thank goodness that I’m an ISTP, and that my Moon is in Virgo – that seems to settle down the Aries Sun and Leo Ascendant at times, especially during this retrograde Mercury! My mind goes into mechanical mode – I tap into the geeky, nerdy ‘Dilbert’ brain and dissect, deconstruct, and dismantle things…internally of course! I’m not shredding things, LOL – although, if I knew how to play a guitar, I would shred on it for a bit! For example, it’s annoying when a person thinks that they need to “man-splain” something to me…but it’s downright loathsome when someone thinks that they need to “white-splain” something!

Many people that I try to talk with seem to be angry. Others are frightened. Quite a few others seem extraordinarily depressed, or in unknown states of distress. Inquiries garner no meaningful response, which causes me to withdraw. If you don’t want my time or attention, then fair enough! I won’t waste either of those precious resources on those who don’t want it. Watering the Sahara would reap more rewards, for me – and besides, desert flowers are beautiful!

I’m putting the final touches on my verbal thrashings, especially since a bit of analytical digging uncovered something very amusing – so, I have to re-write part of my posts for accuracy. They will be worth the wait, though!

Enjoy a few images from the political circus this past week (and last month), along with a bit of music…and, I hope that you found my choice hidden links!

Monday May Musings…2016!

May, already? Wow…the year is nearly halfway over, with summer just around the corner! I think I missed mentioning Beltane, but considering that Mercury is retrograde until the 22nd of this month, I think that I can be forgiven that minor lapse of memory, LOL – or, chalk it up to that so-called “short-term-memory loss!”
😉

I’m working on some posts, including the epic verbal thrashings, so stay tuned for those – I can’t promise that anything I try to schedule will be on-time, but I hope to have them posted by the end of this week! Also, the weather has been too nice for me to stay inside…I’ve been getting my face away from the computer a bit and out in the wind again – nothing beats cruising along a beautiful coastline, especially on a motorcycle, or in a nice convertible with the top down. The car-top, now, not MY top! Heads out of the gutter, people!
😛

Well, back to reading and writing…time to catch up with my favourite blogs! Here are a few screenshots of in-game scenery, along with a song to start your week off right. Later, gators!
😎

Hee

Got that right – I can relate!

Final Friday…29 April 2016!!!

I hope that I can finally relax, today! This week has turned out busier than I expected – but, that always seems to happen when I have good posts planned out, LOL!

I had to attend a funeral on Wednesday; that of a friend of a friend of a friend, an old biker dude who had cancer, cirrhosis of the liver, and various other health issues related to hard drugging in his younger years. He had heart issues, too – had some major infection that required open-heart surgery about five years ago, so he lived a bit longer than he expected to. The last surgery he had, last week, was all his body could take. Life is indeed too short…

My phone is giving me hassles and won’t allow me to upload my latest pictures! I had some lovely shots of sushi and oysters on the half-shell, and a couple of pictures of my favourite bridge in Portland, Oregon: the majestic St. John’s Bridge. It is Gothic in design, to my eyes!

My verbal thrashings will have to wait until tomorrow…I haven’t had time to get them crafted, yet! This is why I rarely schedule things; an unscheduled day always goes much smoother for me than a scheduled one, and that includes blog-posts! Speaking of which, I have allowed “SypherPK’s” comment through for everyone’s viewing pleasure – also, so that you can see what “he” said in the original comment, and so that my dear readers will know that I didn’t edit any of “his” words!
XD

Enjoy these three songs – two played at the funeral, and the last is one that I would want played when my ashes are finally scattered to the four winds…time for me to catch up on a bit of reading of the many blogs that I follow!
