Happy Friday!

It’s another beautiful Friday! We just got back from a nice, long ride on the bike and are settling in with some nice steaks, salad, and corn on the cob for an outdoor, grilled dinner – washed down with some good ale, of course!     😎

Summer is drawing to a close – the Autumnal Equinox falls on September 22nd of this year, and that’s just around the corner. I don’t mind Autumn; I admit that Winter isn’t my favorite season, but I don’t necessarily hate it. I dislike the wet and cold more than anything, but the snow falling is quite beautiful, and when the world is dark and silent, shrouded under a thick cloak of snow…there’s nothing like it. Icicles dangling from the eaves, refracting light, glistening as they melt. No, Ostara and the Vernal Equinox – that is my time of year, and my Ascendant sign is the ruler of high summer! I love Spring and Summer – I revel under the spring rains and the summertime sunshine. Below are two examples of the pagan Wheel of the Year, showing the seasons and months associated with them – the first one shows the proper names for all, including the seasonal changes. For example, Mabon is associated with the Autumn Equinox.

I just wanted to note a few topics that I’m working on for next week, and a couple of others that I hope to finish before the month ends. Next week will see Parts Three and Four of my series on racism and sexism in entertainment. I am also working on the series on mental illness and how the designations were created for the sole benefit of white people in general, and white women in particular. This one required a lot of research and couldn’t simply be limited to the topic of depression, so I had to do quite a bit of digging! I hope the end result will be worth the effort…

I’m also planning a few more of my unofficial “Pacific Northwest Edition” of “white watch”, which shows how reports of white crime aren’t given half of the attention that crimes involving non-whites are – and when they are reported on, the comment sections of those articles are nothing more than joke-fests. Articles about crimes by non-whites, however, are filled with hateful, racist statements on a regular basis – I do my best to illustrate that, as well. Additionally, I will do my one and only post regarding the presidential election, now that both the RNC and the DNC are done and over-with. I have a little bit to say about that, but nothing really in-depth – I’m not going to analyse either convention. It’s irrelevant.

I enjoy astrology, so at the beginning of next year I’m going to do a little tribute to each astrological sign, as well as note the Chinese astrological year. This year, 2012, marks the Year of the Black Water Dragon. My fiancee is a Tiger, I am a Dog, and my son is a Dragon.

Anyway, that’s all for now – have a great weekend, dear readers!
