One Song on Sunday

The rain is easing up around here – finally! Makes viewing the beautiful full moon much easier. Mercury is turning retrograde as well, so here is my single song pick for the day.

😎

1 December Shopping List

I need to order calendars now that December has arrived. The ones that I like seem to get sold faster than most! It is also time to replenish stocks of the bath soaps and other beauty products that I use.

Can’t forget the USB adaptor for my new headset, either! I already have one, but it is usually used as a backup. The newer ones should be more compatible with the latest technology, I think.

1st Friday Fun: Drunk History!

This marks an “official” first Friday so I decided to offer up a bit of historic comedy, Drunk History-style! New episodes of this awesome series begin in January, but the following links provide a little introduction to it for those of you who might be unfamiliar with it. Enjoy!

😎

Tuesday Tunes: Mercury Retrograde Edition, December 2016!

Yep, it’s that time again…Mercury retrograde in Capricorn and Sagittarius, meaning double-trouble for my attempts at communicating with anyone! No wonder some people got all pissy and bent out of shape at me recently, LOL! Oh well, that’s how it goes…fecal matter doth occur! In light of that, here are three songs which articulate this perfectly. It’s also Solstice eve, and I’m working on a nice little post for tomorrow, which is the shortest day of the year. Music and pictures will abound! See you all later…

Thursday Thoughts…1 December 2016

I’m still brain-fried from NaNoWriMo and that lovely seasonal depression is threatening…I just feel very *meh* about everything for no particular reason. So, here’s some music. Enjoy.

Happy Holidays

Blessed Solstice, Joyous Yuletide, and Merry Hannukwaanzamas!

I’m thoroughly satiated on Doctor Who, and currently watching my favourite rendition of my favourite holiday tale: the 1951 television version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Do watch it sometime, if you’ve a mind to… ’tis a time when people still had acting chops. A gesture and an expression, with some timely music, evoke emotions that mere emoticons and emojis can never convey. This is why I’m a role-playing dinosaur – creative descriptions are where it’s at, and few know how to do so anymore. C’est la vie…it is what it is. πŸ˜‰

Anyway – I hope that you and yours are enjoying whatever you celebrate, wherever you are! Enjoy a bit of irreverent holiday humour as I get ready to launch some insanity.

Versatile Blogger Award!

It’s been a busy and stormy week, complete with a couple of brief power and internet outages, so my time online has been interrupted a bit. Not too much, fortunately!

On to the award.

The rules:

1. Thank the person who gave you this award.
2. Include a link to their blog.
3. Next, select 15 blogs that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
4. Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
5. Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

I know that some people don’t want award nominations, so I will respect their wishes.

I’ve culled my list of blogs to those which contain things of interest to me. Consequently, the number of blogs that I follow has dropped to manageable levels.

Finally, 7 things about me, myself, and I.

1. I love to sing and do quite well at it.
2. Cooking relaxes me almost as much as reading, writing, or listening to music does.
3. I can drive vehicles with manual or automatic transmissions, but I’ve never had a driver’s license.
4. I do crossword puzzles in pen…always.
5. I still buy toys and children’s books for myself, but only when shopping for gifts for my niece and nephews. Some people consider Dungeons & Dragons or computer games to be kid stuff, so those are my “toys.”
6. I can get lost for hours, staring out of a window and watching the world go by.
7. I live in music.

Interlude – Musical Monday

Enjoy these three songs as I get ready to post an award and re-blog some important things that I missed over the past couple of days. Also, today is the birth anniversary of Bellur Krishnamachar Sundararaja Iyengar, phenomenal yoga instructor – I love the Google doodle! Finally, I have to pack up my computer rig in preparation for the long-awaited upgrade…the parts have finally arrived, so my computer will be overhauled tomorrow! I’m looking forward to getting info about game-streaming and the proper sites to utilize for that purpose, as I’m eager to share my epic battles with all of you!

He was born on a summer day, 1951
And with a slap of a hand, he had landed as an only son
His mother and father said what a lovely boy
We’ll teach him what we learned, ah yes just what we learned
We’ll dress him up warmly and we’ll send him to school
It’ll teach him how to fight to be nobody’s fool

Oh, what a lonely boy
Oh, what a lonely boy
Oh, what a lonely boy

In the summer of ’53 his mother brought him a sister
And she told him we must attend to her needs
She’s so much younger than you
Well he ran down the hall and he cried
Oh how could his parents have lied
When they said he was an only son
He thought he was the only one

Oh, what a lonely boy
Oh, what a lonely boy
Oh, what a lonely boy

Goodbye mama, goodbye to you
Goodbye papa, I’m pushing on through

He left home on a winter day 1969
And he hoped to find all the love
He had lost in that earlier time
Well his sister grew up and she married a man
He gave her a son, ah yes a lovely son
They dressed him up warmly, they sent him to school
It taught him how to fight to be nobody’s fool

Oh, what a lonely boy
Oh, what a lonely boy
Oh, what a lonely boy

“Stand”

Stand in the place where you live
Now face north
Think about direction
Wonder why you haven’t before

Now stand in the place where you work
Now face west
Think about the place where you live
Wonder why you haven’t before

If you are confused, check with the sun
Carry a compass to help you along
Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you around

So stand in the place where you live
Now face north
Think about direction
Wonder why you haven’t before

Now stand in the place where you work
Now face west
Think about the place where you live
Wonder why you haven’t before

Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you around
If wishes were trees, the trees would be falling
Listen to reason, season is calling

Stand in the place where you live
Now face north
Think about direction
Wonder why you haven’t before

Now stand in the place where you work
Now face west
Think about the place where you live
Wonder why you haven’t before

If wishes were trees, the trees would be falling
Listen to reason, reason is calling
Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you around

So stand (Stand!)
Now face north
Think about direction
Wonder why you haven’t before

Now stand (Stand!)
Now face west
Think about the place where you live
Wonder why you haven’t

Stand in the place where you live
Now face north
Think about direction
Wonder why you haven’t before

Now stand in the place where you work
Now face west
Think about the place where you live
Wonder why you haven’t before

Stand in the place where you are
Now face north
Stand in the place where you are
Now face west
Your feet are going to be on the ground
(Stand in the place where you are)
Your head is there to move you around, so stand

Unstable Air Mass!

I was ready to post some Sunday stuff, but the lights are flickering and thunder is rolling…so I’m going outside to get struck by lightning! Wish me luck on getting some awesome footage…LOL.
