Friday Funtime: Colbert, Conan, and ‘Wrecked!’

I think that a bit of comedy relief is needed, what with the bellicose atmosphere between Baby-Hands McDrumpf and Kim Jong-Un blanketing the week.

My taste in humour is not one that is easily pinned down, much like my personality or personal beliefs. Those who look to be offended by me, or anything that I say, are always going to be. I’m looking for positive and upbeat collaborators, not negative drama queens and self-absorbed shit-stirrers. With that said, the needless, mindless, and baseless criticisms of bullshit artists will no longer be entertained here.

😈

Now, on to the comedy! Please enjoy these five comedic clips that had me doubled over with laughter! Along with John Oliver and Samantha Bee, I rely on Conan O’Brien and Stephen Colbert to keep me smiling through these tense times. They, and the TBS television show ‘Wrecked,’ are genuine gems!

Mid-Week Amusements: Food & Comedy!

It’s a nice, relaxing Wednesday, and the delicious aroma of home-made beef stew is wafting through the house. Cooking is such an enjoyable thing to do, especially with fresh ingredients! I figured that I’d show a few of the vegetables which I like to use in stews, much like my previous post about the things I toss in with my chicken soup.

Onions, shallots, and garlic make up the base – I don’t think that any dinner is complete unless it has at least one of those flavourful bulbs included! Carrots may or may not be used, since the variety of root vegetables used more than makes up for their omission. These herbs and vegetables round out the meal:

Thyme

Rosemary

Oregano

Parsnip

Turnip

Rutabaga

Red potatoes

I love using fresh herbs of many different types…the picture below shows a few of my go-tos.

Baseball season is just around the corner – I’m looking forward to it, as always! When spring arrives, the “Boys of Summer” aren’t far behind…also, my comedy shows are back with new episodes, after being pre-empted by the overly long and drawn-out “March Madness.” Don’t get me wrong, I like basketball well enough. I just happen to prefer baseball, football (American, non-arena), and rugby if / when I can catch it on television!

Anyway, since I’m amusing myself with some choice comedy bits, I thought that I’d share them with you. Sometimes, a good laugh does a body good, and these clips had me in a fit of giggles!

Shining the Blacklight on American Democracy

Drumpf’s Agenda: Today, America…Tomorrow, the World!

Conan O’Brien talks about the United Airlines dress code

Conan O’Brien hits Comic-Con(R) Mad Max-Style (2015)

Finally, this post wouldn’t be complete without a couple of nods to yesterday’s post about bots and the role they play in various online scams. Behind every bot, troll, sock-puppet and cat-phish is someone looking to give you the old “Rick-Roll!”

The Trump Tower Caper (14): A Stink So Big…

I just had to re-blog and share this post…it’s too good! I love it…

Friday Fun-Time: “Hollow-Day” Edition!

Ah, December…the month where everyone that you know is suddenly going overboard with shoving holiday cheer down your throat, and blowing so much crap up your arse you feel like you’re going to fart snowflakes, tinsel, and candy canes! All of this hollow “good-will” starts well before Hallowe’en, mind you, so some of us are beyond sick of xmas before the end of November. That, combined with the paranoid screeching about the nonsensical, imaginary “war” on xmas has me completely over the whole “peace on Earth” thing which doesn’t seem to exist, as of late. Believe it or not, I’m not a pessimist – but, I can say that I’m fairly cynical! It isn’t about the glass being “half-full” or “half-empty,” I just look at the reality of a situation and call it what it is.

I’ve been noticing an interesting trend for at least a decade: the amount of “hard-luck” stories explode exponentially during this time of year, and have gotten worse with the popularity of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other “social” media sites. There was a story reported on the local news last month that I wanted to cite, but it is no longer available on the specific local station’s website, meaning it was exactly what I suspected it was – a fake, “hard-luck” story!

No, I’m not in a bad mood; I can certainly think of some recent posts I’ve seen on the blogs of others, and I’m a glowing, golden ray of sunshine, comparatively! In light of that, I’m going to share a few of my own personal Thanksgivoween and Hannukkwaanzamas favourites. For instance, my buddy Brian over at Bonnywood Manor did an awesome post about the “12 Shots of Xmas.” It reminded me of a song that used to be played on the local Seattle radio station KZOK-FM around this time of year, and after years of searching, I managed to find it again – it only took me 13 years to do so, LOL!

(The other video I had up was way funnier, but isn’t allowed to be played here! Click on this link for the better version)

Finally, here are my top three “hollow-day” favourites to close out this post. Hey – I’ve always said that my sense of humour isn’t easily understood, so don’t expect anything warm and fuzzy! Enjoy, and have a great weekend…I have to get back to the New Life Festival activities in Tamriel! Later, gators…

Tuesday Tidbits…13 December 2016

It’s a particularly awesome day, today! It’s a special one – why, you may ask? Because it is, that’s why! That should be good enough, I’d wager. I’ll give a little hint, though: it’s a day celebrated annually by some, and involves the giving of gifts and toasting good fortune, and the gift that I have is one that I’ve needed and wanted for some time! Anything that keeps me in fighting trim is necessary, and the garbage advertised on television leaves much to be desired – I’ve yet to see my machine advertised anywhere, personally; and it is a brand that has been around for 20 years or more. Yes, I’m now the proud owner of a circuit-training home gym and couldn’t be happier! Free-weights, kettle-bells, and ellipticals are fine and dandy, but my ideal workout has always included a “universal” machine – and, best of all, I don’t have to go to a stinky, sweaty, germ-filled “fitness center!” How anyone can stand those places is beyond me…seriously, every single time I tried to have a membership in any sort of health club, I would get sick within a week no matter how much I cleaned the machines before and after I used them. I didn’t pay to get sick, I paid to work-out, but muscle-heads and cheese-cakes were too busy primping and posing on the machines instead of using them, so they were a waste of my time and money, LOL! Exercising in the peace, quiet, and comfort of my own home is best for me.

It’s cold out there, but I don’t mind because I was able to see the beautiful moon last night, and should be able to see it again tonight when it reaches complete fullness. Clear skies means colder weather, but the sunshine is very refreshing after what seems like a straight month and a half of clouds, rain, hail, snow, and nearly every other type of precipitation you can imagine, except for sleet! Gotta bundle up before walking on the beach…

Time for some music, and I have to do some cooking! Beef stew for lunch, game hens for dinner…the only thing that sucks about cooking is the cleaning and prepping, but it’s still worth it. Talk to ya later, gators!

Friday Fun & Foolishness!!!

Well, whaddya know…we actually got some snow! It started coming down yesterday morning at around 11:30 PST, changing back to rain near midnight. I enjoyed it while it was around – I even went out and built a little snowman on the top of my car, LOL

Since it’s Friday and I’m in a good mood, I figured I’d treat you to some silly comedy, funny memes, and a bit of music…enjoy while I get back to doing some gaming!

Thursday Thoughts: 17 November 2016

Wow – this month is just over halfway over, already! What with the recent election and doing my best to meet the daily word-count challenge of NaNoWriMo, I’ve been insanely busy – but it is enjoyable, believe it or not! I didn’t assume that the challenge would be easy…after all, if something is easy, then it can’t qualify as a challenge, now, can it? I will say that it is a worthy challenge, so I’ve been adjusting my writing schedule as needed, so as not to be overwhelmed or frustrated. One cannot force inspiration, and if I’m staring at a computer screen blankly, with nothing coming to mind, then trying to push myself isn’t going to work. Those are the times I unplug from the computer completely and do something else! My “unplugging” is why I’ve barely been able to keep up with even 1/10th of the blogs that I follow! Apologies to my friends and acquaintances for my absence…I at least try to “like” posts here and there, even if I can’t comment as much. The month will be over before I know it, though, and things can get back to some semblance or normalcy…whatever that is!
XD

Speaking of gaming, there is a “free play” weekend promotion going on for the game that I’m hopelessly and shamelessly addicted to. It’s so free, you don’t even have to purchase The Elder Scrolls Online game. Simply click on this link for the details – if you have a Steam account, then you’re halfway there! I do notice though, that many gamers (including myself) definitely have a preference of the genres that we play. Me, I like the MUDs and RPGs, whether they’re MMOs or not. I also like the “collect & build” games, including StarCraft, Command & Conquer, and Total Annihilation. The only FPS-types that I liked were Half-Life and Half-Life 2…it doesn’t hurt that I’m actually in one of those games – at least I can admit my favouritisms and why, LOL

In honour of Skyrim’s newest version recently being released, and the free-play weekend going on, I figured that I’d add the links of my three favourite “Clueless Gamer” clips from Conan O’Brien’s site, TeamCoco.com. They are some of the funniest things that I’ve ever seen, so why wait for Friday to watch them? Thursday has been called “Friday Eve” by myself and many others for a few years, so let’s get the weekend started early, and on a fun-filled note! I hope that you enjoyed the hidden links scattered about, and that the five songs at the end of the post get you dancing around. Later, gators!

Random Saturday Screen-shots & Silliness!

I’m celebrating the fact that the month is nearly over, and my jury duty is completed! Enjoy these random screen-shots of some recent gaming, and three awesome episodes of one of my favourite comedies of all time, Absolutely Fabulous. I hope that they make you laugh as much as I did!
XD

Finally – A Bit o’ Rest & Relaxation… *** UPDATED 22 July 2016 ***

I can relax and be lazy again, for a bit! No, nothing to do with that dreaded jury duty – at least, not yet! I still have one day tentatively scheduled, which I get to call about tomorrow to see if it’s still on.

I’ve been busy out in the yard and the garden, tending the plants and shrubberies whilst letting the grasses grow tall – the birds, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, and raccoons enjoy the shelter and food provided by the abundant overgrowth. The honeysuckle near the kitchen window smells sweetly fragrant whenever I open the window and let the cross-breeze blow through. I’ve planted rosemary, thyme, and lavender near the front door – honeybees and bumble-bees seem to have multiplied since I put them there last month. Tiny green frogs hide in the bushes during the day, staying out of sight of the snakes. Yeppers, there are small snakes in the bamboo and the rhododendrons! I love looking out and seeing if I can spy some critter moving about in the branches…I want to mount a camera in various places around my house sometime, just to see what wanders through.

What else…well, today marks the birth anniversary of the late, great Robin Williams, who is sorely missed these days…I’d love to see his take on the current political atmosphere, for sure! He, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin – it would give me joy to hear their conversation, were they dining in some great feasting-hall in the afterlife, for the true entertainers! Still, I can’t complain about the daily offerings of my faves: Trevor Noah, Larry Wilmore, Stephen Colbert, and Samantha Bee have been crushing the politicians left and right…literally and figuratively! I have to search to find the gems that John Oliver and Bill Maher dish out, and I dearly hope that Jessica Williams finds a place where she can really shine – I want to see her comments off the chain and uncensored, LOL! Speaking of comedies, you simply must check out the sitcom “Wrecked” if you haven’t done so already! No description of mine can do it justice – so, if you are able to find the pilot episode, watch it and judge for yourselves…I refuse to give spoilers! I hope that, by now, you are finding and enjoying the hidden links interspersed throughout this post!

Ah, what else…oh, yes – I simply have to say this: Melania Drumpf is a plastic-faced, plagiarist cunt. Period. Yes, she speaks five languages. Guess what? Most people from countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia tend to be multi-lingual, and most Americans are ignorant of that fact. I was fortunate enough to meet a multitude of “foreign exchange students” when I was growing up in Alaska, and their command of many languages – not counting their native tongues – was phenomenal. That anorectic slag is actually a remedial in her home country, when it comes down to it. I mean, seriously: if she were superior, she would be running her own engineering firm! Trust that I am resentful of the fact that my education system didn’t allow for learning multiple languages from K – 12. I despise that my country of birth has been set on erasing the cultures and languages of all non-white U.S. residents since before its inception…and yet, does everything to resurrect, co-opt, corrupt and “white-wash” the very cultures that have been erased and eradicated.

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is in full swing, and once again, I am not in attendance…sacrilege! I hold out hope for next year, when holding to my budget will be more feasible. For instance, my son signed the lease to his own apartment so a visit and celebratory dinner was in order! We’ve been cleaning house here and there, and had some things that we didn’t need, so some nice furniture and assorted appliances went for his use: a dining table, computer desk, four chairs, and a bookcase. Copper-bottomed pans, coffee cups, eating utensils, and a nice Seattle Seahawks blanket were also appreciated – his bachelor pad is fully-functional!

I save a bit of money by doing my hair at home, for the most part. I still need a decent touch-up now and again, and am sorely overdue for one, but I’m able to keep my hair done with the purchase of a top-quality steamer / dryer. It helps me keep my dreads soft and smelling great, and I bought it on Amazon for an excellent price.

Last but not least, my fitness goals are now much closer in sight than they previously were: I’m the proud owner of a very high-quality home gym! I hate going to fitness clubs, because they seem to be quite unsanitary and are far too time-consuming. I want to work out and go, not sit and wait for some sweaty hairbag to quit talking to some she-male’s implants. People never wipe the equipment when they’re done, either – you ever notice that? That right there is the biggest time-waster: cleaning up the weight machines after everyone else, because the so-called “gym attendants” are way too busy posing for their imaginary magazine cover, to actually do the job of equipment maintenance.

Digressing…I have been beaming all week long. I’ve been looking for the perfect home gym and finally have it – I can plan my perfect workout and fitness regimen! I have my elliptical, bicycle, and kettlebells…now, I have my circuit-training machine. I’m elated and ecstatic, especially now that I have an excuse to buy some nice workout gear, LOL! I might even do some posts about my progress, especially if I can surpass how fit I used to be. Working out is something that I’ve always enjoyed; I’ve always maintained that just because I’m a gamer, doesn’t mean that I have to look like the stereotype of one! I’ve never been content with “average” – it might be a blessing; it might be a curse, but I am an overachiever and probably always will be. I set my own high standards for myself…which is how it should be!
