Half-Assed Laziness

I’ve seen many examples of half-assed laziness during my now-ended search for worthwhile blogs to read and follow. I found a better platform for my more serious concerns and discussions, so this blog of mine is now my party place solely dedicated to music, gaming, and other forms of entertainment.

The blogs I’ve found, unfortunately, have simply been clones of the same blog but given a different name and a slightly different theme and layout. The obvious clue is the followers, who always seem to be the same people, saying the exact same thing in the comment sections on the cloned blogs.

The so-called authors of same are so lazy that they only see fit to re-blog their own content on their other blogs, whilst claiming to be “hubs” for the blogging masses to find each other in.

Talk about half-assed laziness. If you’re going to be that lazy, then at least try to use your whole ass.

I’m sure that it’s big enough, due to sitting online 24 / 7 desperately seeking any sort of attention from anyone and doing anything and everything to get said attention.

The Miranda Sings Award…#2!!!

I’m not certain who this Miranda person is that the award is named for. For that matter, I don’t even know if she sings, or if she can do it all that well. I suppose that dreaded AutoTune device makes anyone believe that they can, ROFL! At any rate, blog awards or their titles aren’t for dissecting, they are to be appreciated and shared – so, here we go!

With any blogging award, there are rules – so pay attention! The rules for this one are:
•Thank the blogger who nominated you.
•Name seven things you love about yourself.
•Nominate and notify seven bloggers about this award.
•You can’t nominate the person who nominated you.
•Don’t forget to display the award in your post.

Seven things I love about myself:
•My sense of humour.
•My adventurous spirit.
•My appreciation of nature and the world we live on, and in.
•I can make others laugh – my friends called me the “Joke-Box” in school!
•I love learning new things.
•My drive, dedication, and determination!
•I love meeting new people, even when they don’t stick around for long.

Last, but not least, my nominations! I’ll defer them for now, because I think many people are going “award-free” on their blogs, which makes it more difficult to give an award. Since I tend to re-blog a lot of good things, I invite you to take a look at the blogs that I’ve re-posted things from…you might find some hidden gems! Meanwhile, I’ll just serenade my visitors and loyal fans with seven random songs and vids. Enjoy!

Ah, The Love!!!

Wow – when it rains, it pours! Ever since the horrific, tragic events in my home country last week, the Interwebz have been ablaze. People have been mindlessly attacking others, and I’m one of those who has, suddenly and inexplicably, come under fire…and not for anything that I said.

In my “Wordless Wednesday…” post, another blogger that I used to follow and read regularly chose to make a condescendingly congratulatory comment. They essentially, verbally, patted me on the head for “not ranting” about Alton Sterling’s murder. I was still reeling from that, but then the murder of Philando Castile occurred. I was editing my “Still Speechless…” post, saw their inane comment, and responded by saying that I had a full-blown rant in progress – but then I saw what was happening in Dallas, and stated so in my reply. I thought that would be the end of it…boy, was I wrong!

The person then made some plaintive, wailing comment which indicated that A) they really hadn’t bothered reading anything that I’d posted during the past week, and B) they have an issue with American citizens and decided to take that issue out on me. The blogger in question has plenty of American followers, but I guess they figured that I’d be an easy target for their interesting brand of hate. Their last mindless act was to selectively take one line out of all of my comments – the line where I clearly, and rightfully, called them out on their racist attitude – and post said, edited line in the ‘About’ section of yet another blog that I used to follow. No context, no preamble, nothing – just the standard, trollish “poke and run!” I would venture that they are experts in “Derailing For Dummies” – they pulled out all of the stops, I’ll give them that!

I guess a troll needs some attention, so – here it is! For starters: who in the ever-living fuck are you? What sane human being WOULDN’T be ranting over the sight of a 15-year-old boy weeping over the graphic, gruesome murder of his father? What sane human being WOULDN’T be ranting over hearing a 4-year-old girl trying to stay calm after witnessing her own father gunned down before her very eyes by a screeching, paranoid, neurotic, racist cop? A little girl who has to tell her mother, “It’s all right, mommy…I’m here for you…” Holy fucking shit on toast! My lack of a rant wasn’t to make your little fee-fees all full of warm fuzzies, because my blog isn’t about you and your little fee-fees – so save your racist condescension for someone else. I’m not sure what got your Tenas in a twist, nor do I give a shit right now. I dunno; did you cater a dinner for Toronto mayor Ford, then sample a bit too heavily on his special “appetizers?” Are you bored? Is your clique not giving you the attention you think that you deserve? Is your dear hubby having an affair with one (or more) of his endless photography subjects? Or, did you simply forget to take your meds?

Whatever your issue is, I’m not concerned with it. Your elementary-school actions are beyond petty. I mean, seriously – you wouldn’t even post the entire verbal interaction we had regarding that specific comment. You didn’t address it on your blog – you posted half-assed snark in someone else’s blog. In closing, I’ll just say this: If my blog is so offensive to you, then don’t read it. Take your issues to your buddies and complain about how evil and harsh I am. Bitch and moan incessantly about my lack of wanting to engage in the same tiresome nonsense that I’ve heard from your kind, my entire life. I’m sure that you’ll feel all better, after your ass-kissing clique-members stroke you, compliment you and your intelligence, and otherwise engage in the echo-chamber activities that you adore. Me? I feel great after a nice, relaxing weekend in the coastal sunshine!

Back to regular postings, but first: it’s nearly time for the start of the MLB All-Star Game…I need my baseball! Priorities, priorities…

Smiley Thumb Award!!!

I was nominated for a brand new award. It was a nice surprise.

As with any award, there are rules. The rules for this one are as follows:

 Include the photo of the Smiley Thumb award.
 Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
 Tell us what makes you smile.
 Nominate as many bloggers as you like.
 Include these rules in your post.

Okay, that seems simple enough…

What makes me smile? Here are the top three things that I could think of:

Music makes me smile, for one thing! It evokes many different emotions at any given time, so even if a piece causes me to weep, I still do so with a smile…it feels good to feel, you know?

Nature makes me smile. I love waking up and opening the blinds to see what will greet me outdoors. Clouds or sun, birds or deer, I look forward to what the day will bring.

People make me smile, whether in amusement, exasperation, annoyance, or resignation. Frail and flawed, yet beautiful and strong, my fellow humanoids make me smile. I make myself smile for all of the same reasons.

The Music & Words Award!!!

I have to thank T. Wayne from the A Joyful Process blog for this open nomination of this brand-new (for me) award! Music and words are two things in life that I own, master, and live. They have been key and instrumental in my life for as long as I can remember, and they have gotten me through some of the worst times in my life!

Here are the rules for this award:
1. Link back to the person who nominated you.
2. Answer the questions within, with words AND music.
3. Pass the award to 5 bloggers who inspire you with posts about music.
4. Tag your post with #MWA, for Music & Words Award so we can all follow you down the line.
5. List these rules in your post.

So, here are the questions.

Everything…music is life, it is emotion, and it conveys depth of thought and mood when words fail. This instrumental by Pink Floyd, titled “Signs of Life,” is one of many which does so for me.

I was laying underneath a grand piano while someone played it beautifully – I watched feet working the pedals and listened to how they changed the tone of the song. I think that I was 3 or 4 years old, then…

Adam & the Ants: “Kings of the Wild Frontier” and “Prince Charming.” I was probably the only person in my tiny school who liked Adam & the Ants, and I was soundly mocked by everyone I knew! I never understood why my taste in music was something to be made fun of, especially when those same people marveled at my knowledge of Black Sabbath, Quiet Riot, Jethro Tull, and many other bands. I realized that they were limited and expected the same of me…and I will never allow myself to be limited by others. Ever. The song “Prince Charming” sums it up!

The Best of David Bowie and Blackstar by…the late, great, ever-missed David Bowie. I love the song “Lazarus” – the saxophone speaks eloquently.

“The Voice” by the Moody Blues…it is, always has been, and always will be one of my top favourite songs.

My nominees:

The rules say to nominate 5 other bloggers, but I think that everyone that I wish to nominate has an “award-free” blog. Anyone who reads this post and wishes to participate may do so…just follow the rules to the best of your ability, please!

Epically Awesome!!!

Well, will you look at this – my 5th award nomination! It appears as if the rules are straightforward:

1. I know you are Awesome, tell us why.

I get to toot my own horn for a change? I’m not used to it, but I’ll keep it short and sweet! I’m awesome because I’m me! I’m smart, funny, kinda cute, brutally honest, loyal to a fault, short-tempered but never cruel, and I tend to treat others the way I want to be treated: be respectful if you want to get to know me, don’t kiss my arse or blow smoke up my tail-pipe, and leave me alone if you don’t care for my personality…you can be certain that I will do the same, with no malice or anger – life is life, after all!

I’m a geek and a ‘blerd’ who has done a lot in life in a short time, so I’m writing about what I’ve done…my book is my memoirs to date. I love to read, travel, and listen to music…but I’m also a hermit who likes to vegetate at home. I can be content not seeing other people for weeks on end – I like my own company.

2. You are my friends and tell us about others.

Oh, this list could be horrendously long if I allowed it to be, so I’ll pick the top blogs that I’ve been reading over the past couple of months. These blogs are awesome in their own rights, for various reasons, and perhaps my readers will see how eccentric and eclectic my tastes are and just accept it, the same way I accept the creativity and variety of the blogs I follow. We may not agree on every single thing, but wouldn’t life be boring if we did? With that…roll call!

3. I want all of those I nominated to be creative!

4. I give no questions to be fully answered.

I’m working on part three of my current bit of ESO fan-fiction, which will be posted as soon as I find some epically awesome screen-shots to add. I’m also working on the live game-streaming content, so stay tuned for some epically awesome fighting…I really hope that they turn out well!

When in doubt, remember this…the answer to everything is ’42!’
