Full Frontal Thursday: Brett Kavanaugh, Universal Health Care, & Chuck Jones

In today’s edition of “Full Frontal Thursday,” Sam talks about Brett Kavanaugh and how we don’t need another ’90s reboot of something completely gawd-awful. Anita Hill survived the shitty gauntlet she was run through. Has anything been learned since then? I think not.

Sam also makes the case for universal health care by debunking the bullshit spewed from the talking heads on FauxNews and other Nazi-supported state television and websites.

Last but not least, Mike Rubens travels to Indiana to speak with candidate Chuck Jones – and possibly get his ass kicked in a game of rummy.

Musical Monday

It’s Monday and time for a bit of music since “Last Week Tonight” had no new episode this week.

I’m often amused over people’s reactions to the most innocuous things, and laugh out loud at those who try to push other people’s buttons when they get offended over nothing. It just goes to show how miscommunications and misunderstandings happen regularly, especially on the interwebs.

For me, speaking with people is always best done in person so that facial expressions and body language can be seen, or vocal tone can be heard and discerned. Much is lost on many levels without face-to-face communication.

This isn’t a complaint or a gripe, it is a personal observation. I think that there are some out there who might agree with this observation if they were willing to be honest with themselves.

I’m not holding my breath.

5 on Friday: Character Class Themes (Re-blogged)

There’s an in-game event which will keep me busy all weekend. I will be live-streaming some of the action today through Monday, so grab some snacks and head over to my Twitch channel.

Eyrie Of An Aries

When I had an in-game guild site up I’d done a little musical tribute to the four character classes in The Elder Scrolls Online: Templars, Nightblades, Sorcerers, and Dragonknights. With the addition of the Warden class, introduced with the Morrowind / Vvardenfell chapter, I decided to update this post for my scheduled “Five on Friday.”

Another new class might be introduced soon, as many have been screaming for it and discussing it in forums. I think a necromancer class is fitting and goes along with the Elder Scrolls storyline and the accompanying lore. Unfortunately, the devs seem more inclined to listen to their favourites and their followers and those people aren’t really playing the game. It has been obvious of late, with all of the glitches and scheduling issues ZoS has been wrestling with since the beginning of the year. “Never mix business with pleasure.” That is a rule…

Full Frontal Thursday: New Set, Minority Rule, and Gamifying the Midterms

In today’s long-awaited installment of “Full Frontal Thursday,” Sam is back with a new set and an app that will reward people for voting.

She also addresses the overt racism of gerrymandering, the oldest trick in the handbook of voter disenfranchisement.

Here are three excellent tunes to tickle your eardrums on this fine Wednesday morning.

Last Week Tonight: Felony Disenfranchisement

In today’s installment of “Last Week Tonight,” John discusses how people with felony convictions have to struggle to get basic civil rights back. Some states allow non-violent felons to regain some of their civil rights, including the right to vote. Florida is not one of them.

A person with a felony conviction for rape or murder is in a far different class than a person who has a felony conviction for possession of, or distribution of, marijuana. Yet, a white murderer is given a slap on the wrist and a conveyer belt back to “proper” society, while a black drug dealer gets shoved in a hole for the rest of their lives.

No surprise there.
