Tuesday Tunes

I’m relaxing indoors on this Tuesday afternoon, doing some gaming while music plays in the background.

I heard this Depeche Mode song on the 80s station earlier this morning. The other stations that I listen to on a regular basis don’t play this band very often at all.

Here are three songs of theirs which I have always enjoyed. I would love to see the video for the second song updated to reflect current political happenings.

Last Week Tonight: Workplace Sexual Harassment

“Last Week Tonight” returns with new episodes and the first one is about sexual harassment in the workplace. In today’s installment, John talks with Anita Hill, one of the most well-known examples and they discuss the most rampant logical fallacies and roadblocks thrown up to derail the conversation.

The conversation about sexual harassment and the #MeToo movement gets derailed in exactly the same ways as the conversation about race does. Quite a fascinating parallel.

A Song on Saturday

Here’s a great song by Alice In Chains, which goes along perfectly with the Midyear Mayhem madness and chaos! I am live-streaming the action on my Twitch channel so bookmark the link to watch the fun. I have five new followers on my channel as of today! Not bad at all.

Five on Friday: Faith No More

For today’s “Five on Friday” post I picked my top favourite songs by Faith No More.

It’s a full moon Friday and the ESO Midyear Mayhem in-game event is in high gear! I will be streaming some of the action over the weekend, so click on the Twitch link in the “Multimedia Links” page and bookmark my channel to view the fun.

Full Frontal Thursday: the NRA, Watergate Refresher, & Coffee Talk

In today’s edition of “Full Frontal Thursday,” Sam talks about the spy who loved the NRA and the deafening silence from that group about their long-term treason. She also does a great job with a clap-back on their stupid ad.

Next, she gives those of us too young to really know what Watergate was all about a little history lesson. History can repeat itself and has vastly different outcomes when different people are the actors.

Finally, she gets in a car with Russian dissident and author, Masha Gessen, and has a little “coffee talk” with her.

Midyear Mayhem Eve

Let the mayhem commence! Tomorrow is the beginning of the second annual Midyear Mayhem in-game event and I will be live-streaming some of the action over the weekend.

To get in the proper frame of mind I offer up some recent in-game scenery and three songs to get the gamer rage going.

Time to rub salt in many a racist gamer’s wound.

Tuesday Tunes

Here are three songs on this Tuesday afternoon. One by a band called ’til Tuesday and two about lies. Fitting for what is going on in the news as people escalate their mental deterioration above and beyond all previous levels.

It is fascinating to observe.

Last Week Tonight: NRA-TV (Re-blogged)

In light of the arrest of that pasty-faced, surgically-enhanced Russkie slut-for-hire who infiltrated the NRA, I felt that a re-blog of this “Last Week Tonight” episode was warranted.

I wonder what Colion Noir thinks about all this? He certainly had to be aware of it, unless he is being given the mushroom treatment.

Eyrie Of An Aries

In this edition of β€œLast Week Tonight,” John Oliver educates us on a little-known internet channel called β€œNRA Television.” I’d only heard about it over the past couple of days.

I used to be a member of the National Rifle Association. I had a 3-year membership 20 years ago. Propaganda delivered to my mailbox on a weekly basis. I had a three-inch stack of their ridiculous bumper-stickers by the time I quit, which I donated to the local Army National Guard office.

This bears repeating: The NRA is not a gun-rights organization, looking out for the interests of gun owners in America. Colion Noir, their token Black representative, should really take a closer look at the history of the NRA. He won’t because they pay him too well. Paid shills tend to ignore the obvious facts, much like Omarosa did.

Carry On Wayward Son

I heard this song the other day. The station which plays it the most often always plays the short, butchered version. I got tired of hearing that so I decided to post the full version.

You’re welcome. Enjoy.
