Three Songs for Thursday

For this final Thursday of November 2017, I offer up three songs heard over the past few days. I have to do a bit of laundry, straighten up the kitchen, and get the meals of the day prepped for cooking later on. After that, it will be time for some TeamSpeak-organized dungeon runs! This weekend will be one of the rarer ones involving some heavy gaming. The weather demands staying indoors and I’m caught up with all necessary things, so it is time for some rest, relaxation and recreation.

Release the Kraken!

The Razer Kraken(TM) Pro V2 gaming headset that I ordered on Black Friday has arrived – just in time for the latest free-play gaming weekend being offered by The Elder Scrolls Online!

Here are some of the details from the official site:

Tamriel awaits, adventurer. Continuing our #10MillionStories celebration, we’re thrilled to announce a Free Play event for both PlayStation®4 and PC/Mac players. If you’re a PlayStation®Plus member, or want to try the game on PC/Mac, here’s everything you need to know to play ESO for free this weekend!

The PlayStation®4 and PC/Mac Free Play event will begin on November 30 and run until December 6.

If on PlayStation®4, you’ll need a PlayStation®Plus membership in order to download and play the game. If playing on PC/Mac, you can download and play for free via The Elder Scrolls Online official site or Steam.

All new ESO accounts are gifted 500 free crowns for use in the in-game Crown Store, allowing you to pick up some useful items such as potions, XP Scrolls, food, or an adorable pet! If you’ve played ESO during previous free-play events for your platform, you’ll find that any previous characters and progression will remain, allowing you to continue your adventures in Tamriel as if you never left. If you decide to buy ESO after the free play event, your characters will be waiting for you.

The ESO game client will be approximately 80GB in size, so ensure you have enough space on your machine’s hard drive for the download.”

I love it when a free-play weekend is announced! I always look forward to meeting and helping new players, and if they join any guild that I belong to then it is a personal bonus. I hope that I’ve inspired at least one of my readers to join in on the fun; the best part of this is, there are no commitments required!

Notable Quotes: Vincent van Gogh

Writers, artists, and other creative, deep thinkers tend to say meaningful things which touch us in some way. Author, singer, actress, and poet Maya Angelou, as well as the poet Rumi, were two individuals who left behind some fantastic quotes that resonate with me. Noted artist Vincent van Gogh was another, and I was inspired to post these three van Gogh quotes after seeing a re-airing of one of my favourite Doctor Who episodes.

These quotes, along with many others, can be found on the GoodReads.com site in case you were interested in having a look.

“The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore.”
― Vincent van Gogh

“I try more and more to be myself, caring relatively little whether people approve or disapprove.”
― Vincent van Gogh

“Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high. Then life seems almost enchanted after all.”
― Vincent van Gogh

Wind & Rain!

It has been a bit stormy here on the coast, and another system is moving in. Knock wood, I haven’t lost power at all this time around! The Divines continue to smile benevolently, it appears.

😉

Logical Fallacies

I do my best to ignore the bait when I see a statement loaded with logical fallacies in the blog-o-sphere, on Facebook, or in my online gaming zone chat. I’m not perfect, but I think that I’m getting better at identifying and ignoring them! Reading this little article about “Loki’s Wager” also helps.

I like having intelligent, reasonable discussions. They are generally best conducted face-to-face, in real life.

😎

Sometimes…

People suck. A lot. Being insufferable douchenozzles or annoying asshats are the only things that they are good at, and they go out of their way to be so, constantly and consistently.

On a positive note, there are also people who radiate genuine good-heartedness and true, open spirituality. They are rare and wonderful beings to encounter, and one never forgets the ones whom we are fortunate enough to happen across.

Funny Sunday Memes: 5 March 2017! (Re-blogged)

Just a little bit of Sunday sarcasm, re-blogged! Gaming makes me salty, ROFL

👿

Random Ramblings; Myriad Musings

I was inspired to do this post due to some recent conversations with others, both online and IRL. It amuses me when a person says something sarcastic to me, so I respond in kind – and their response is, “Why are you so offended?” I would ask this: Why do you assume that I’m offended when I treat you in the same way that you chose to treat me? If you say something sarcastic, then expect a sarcastic response – right? If you come at me foaming-at-the-mouth mad over nothing, then expect a big “FUCK YOU” in response. That isn’t being offended, that is me ridding myself of your psychotic presence as quickly and efficiently as I know how. If you’re trying to offend me with sarcasm for some reason, then that’s on you. Incidentally, it takes a hell of a lot more than a snarky / barbed / insulting…

Three Songs on a Saturday!

The gaming continues in earnest, as there are a few events going on through the end of the month. These include an epic contest with awesome in-game and real-life prizes, the chance to earn three free crown crates whether you subscribe or not, a free mount for those who have the “full package,” and a free pet for everyone!

Enjoy the music, and be sure to check out my Twitch channel for the live-stream of in-game action. The caveat, as always, is the potential for crashes and other fun malfunctions when there is a higher-than normal in-game population stressing the gaming servers!

Sepultura’s Screen-Shots: Sundas, 17th Hearthfire (Re-blogged)

My shopping is done so it is time for some gaming. Enjoy this re-blog of some screen-shots, and check out my Twitch channel to watch some of the in-game action – if the higher-than-normal weekend population doesn’t cause major crashes, that is!

😎

Random Ramblings; Myriad Musings

It’s been some time since I posted screen-shots of my in-game action, and there is quite a bit to catch up on! Enjoy the scenery, won’t you?

😎

A rapturous explosion of sun-worship

Wabbajack…

Wabbajack…

WABBAJACK!!!

Trajectory of a trebuchet: hit the wall which has the health bar!

Ballistae and a battering ram at the door of a keep – ’tis all about the penetration.

😉

The Doctor has taken up the scroll…

…run, you clever boy!

The TARDIS has been crowned Empress!

Time for some much-needed, well-earned rest and relaxation.

Admiring a newly acquired statue…

Sepultur’a greets her consort.

Wine and music in the private courtyard…

Titanborn sings and plays a soft serenade for his lady love.

The empress, resplendent in her regalia!

Wuxia Weekend!

Every holiday weekend involves binge-watching a marathon of some sort. This time around we are enjoying the original Star Trek series, as well as some of the best “Kung Fu theatre” films which do – or don’t – star the late, great Bruce Lee.

So far I think that Crippled Avengers has been one of the best!
