The Versatile Blogger Award – 31 October 2016 Edition!

The Versatile Blogger Award: ***Halloween Special***

I was nominated for this award on 31 October 2016. It was a very pleasant Samhain surprise! I’m honoured and humbled by this nomination, and extend my thanks. If you haven’t done so, please check out their very awesome blog! It is one that has been added to my list of ‘dailies,’ which are the blogs I follow that I read on a daily basis.

First, the rules…

1. Display Award.
2. Thank the person who gave this award, and include a link to their blog.
3. Share seven things about yourself.
4. Nominate ten bloggers.

Seven things about me:

1. I’m a coffee fiend and drink 4 – 5 cups per day, but never after 3 p.m. I prefer buying whole-bean coffee and grinding it at home, and have a nice storage container for keeping the grounds fresh. I even use one of those ‘gold’ filters – paper filters absorb the oils of the coffee, diluting the flavor. No, I don’t consider myself a ‘coffee snob,’ LOL

2. I’m participating in the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenge for the first time – but I’ve been blogging for a decade.

3. I haven’t attended a Hallowe’en party for over 10 years.

4. I don’t dress up for Hallowe’en every year, but when I do, I pull out all of the stops…and I never wear the same costume twice.

5. My favourite Hallowe’en candies are: Kit-Kat Bars, Twix bars, Whoppers, Gobstoppers, Lemon-heads, Atomic Fireballs, Swedish fish, and Twizzlers.

6. I’ve never TP’ed a house, but I have covered cars in shaving-cream and silly-string. I’ve thrown eggs at people, but only after they threw them at me!

7. I don’t decorate my house for the holidays – I have my own means of celebrating things.

(I mixed in some Hallowe’en-related stuff in there, just because!)

Congratulations on your award! I love how most of your answers were Halloween related since it’s closely tied with Christmas for my favorite holiday! I love it and, well I want to say I do cosplay, but I spend far more time planning, because I have that perfectionist streak, too. I used to have a rule that I wouldn’t wear the same costume to two parties in the same weekend, so I’d have a fallback/secondary costume (it was usually dark angel because I can pull that off in my sleep). There are Halloween parties running rampant every year.

I do cosplay when I can, which isn’t often! Getting the costumes together is a pain in the arse…but when that perfect one finally comes together, it’s worth the time, energy, and frustration. I have three that are being worked on, at the moment…so, I might have pictures of them in the next five years!

There’s one I’ve been working on for a like a decade, but it’s my cosplay piece de resistance so it has to be perfect lol. I did Rarity Unicorn last year for Halloween and I was Finn from Star Wars VII this year. I’m waiting for my friend so post the pictures she took so I can post about it on my blog. I haven’t updated my Cosplay Confessional posts in forever, and I haven’t worked on my main cosplay in longer because it’s going to be expensive and I’m pretty broke right now. I have done makeup tests, which are time consuming, but educational 🙂

I’d love to see these pictures!

I believe one of the rules of the award is that you have to have under five hundred followers and I am well passed that point sorry
    no more for me

LOL – well, I guess I’ll always look forward to gettin this award, since I’m never going to get five hundred followers. I’m glad that you have enough followers to not need this.
      That’s life!

It gives me a good reason to take breaks from writing, so I don’t drive myself crazier than I already am, ROFL!
Pacing myself during this challenge is important.

I give you credit. I attempted NaNoWriMo once and did more than fail. ‘Twas a disaster. I did finish a novella but pacing was definitely a big important factor. Maybe you can track your progress on your blog?

I’m trying to track my progress with the word-count widget, but it doesn’t seem to update automatically as I hoped it would…perhaps it’s only meant to be used at the end of the challenge when it’s completed, to show the total words written.

I figure that I’m succeeding as long as I’m keeping at or above the daily word-count, LOL – editing and re-writing can happen later.

Thank you…and yes, I can imagine that the list made you hungry, LOL!
I eat sweets in moderation, but I definitely have my favourites!

Hahahaha! Honestly, I don´t eat sweets in moderation. I have to be careful when I go to the market LOL

ROFLMAO! I understand that…one of my many mottoes is, “Everything in moderation – including moderation!”
That way, I don’t beat myself up or feel guilty on the odd days that I overindulge, or eat my guilty pleasures…I have a weakness for “kettle-cooked” potato chips, for instance, and there are two locally-made brands that are the best.
