6 Stages of the Healing Process

A perfect and timely post…there is so much healing that needs to take place, everywhere, with everyone.

β€œPart of the healing process is sharing with other people who care.” ~ Jerry Cantrell

I liked it except the illustrations assume that healing means getting out of a wheelchair and sometimes it means accepting the need for the wheelchair

      I didn’t pick them out, so… *SHRUG*

Pretty much in the same way that you aren’t responsible for the lack of fair representation of Black people in Pagan memes…

I tend to pick memes that don’t have people in them at all, personally.

…also, it’s how the pictures are interpreted, which are always shaded by personal experience.

I viewed the person getting out of the wheelchair, or throwing the crutches away, as a metaphor for not being held captive by one’s past, or by the “unseen” disabilities of PTSD or the like.

We both know that some people make piss-poor excuses for shitty behavior, then blame it on being bipolar, “borderline,” OCD, etc.
People don’t have to be slaves to their disorders. They can “stand tall” – and that includes people in wheelchairs, IMHO.
