Armed Forces Day

Today marks Armed Forces Day, so I moved my planned post to tomorrow. My father fought in World War II; I have an uncle that I’ll never meet because he died in Vietnam before I was born, and one of my brothers served in the Army – I salute and honour all of you today. No, I’m not celebrating war or killing…I am giving due diligence to those who volunteered to serve and defend.

Today marks Vesākha, also known as Wesak / Vesak Day…and, the Full Moon is upon us! I hope that this day, and weekend, is treating everyone well.🙂

Wow that last photo struck me the most. Statues of ancient warriors looking up to modern warriors in their helicopters. War has been with us for so long. We grow and learn with each generation, yet still can’t work our differences out without killing each other.

Agreed…I thought that it was an ironic contrast – and those statues are phenomenal!

It would be nice to be able to work out differences without violence and killing…I wonder, are we even capable of doing so? People seem to get angry over such small things, far too easily. I suppose all I can do is try to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

You’re welcome regarding the reblog:) Of course I bet and watched even though I had my cable and internet taken away. I hit a wager called a pick 4, 2 weeks ago I was short by 1 dollar and it paid 5770 and yesterday even with the favorite and a couple of small prices it paid 80 ish and i hit something else that paid 60. I did put out almost that.

LOL – well, it sounds as if you “broke even,” more or less…so that’s a good thing – I think?
