Leap Year Day!

29th February…like an election in the U.S., it only comes around every four years – but it is far more welcomed, I think! The Google doodle in honour of it is cute…I like bunnies!

I even know someone born on ‘Leap Day’ – a guy named Dean in Alaska, originally from Seattle. When he first introduced himself, he said that he was only 4 – 1/2 years old, which made me laugh! You do the math and figure it out, LOL

I’m sitting here with my first cup of coffee, looking out of the window. It’s mild and pleasant out there this morning; a little cloudy, but no rain. It’s been so warm here the past two weeks, that it feels like springtime already! The flowers are blooming on the rhodie bushes; buds are exploding on every tree, and we finally identified a funny-looking bush that was growing near the porch. It hadn’t shown any leaves or flowers for over a year, but now it’s revealed itself to be a pussy-willow! It has little fuzzies all over it, LOL – I’ll take some pics of it and post them later on in the week.

Since it’s a rare day, I’ll do something rare and tell one personal thing about myself. Five surnames in my family tree are: Braithewaite, Dunn, Harris, Murray, and Pinckney. Interesting, no? I’m looking up the origins of those names – familial histories are fascinating!

Finally, here are a few pictures of a project that has been progressing in fits and starts since 2010. We acquired a 1937 Plymouth pickup truck (PT50) on 25 January of that year, and took possession of it in March. The restoration process has been an amazing thing to witness, and the finished project is beautiful. Yes, it runs! I’m working on uploading the videos from my phone, so they will be posted as soon as I get it figured out!

That’s pretty cool – tell me, does she claim 28 February or 1 March as her birthday during the other years? My friend Dean claimed 1 March because he was born in the late afternoon, and he also said that he never wanted to be last at anything, ROFL

I also wonder if you can get free birthday drinks on both days during other years? I never thought to ask him that!

Having a birthday every 4 years actually makes it more special, I think.
LOL @ Chuck E. Cheese…I took my son to one on his 5th birthday – he wasn’t impressed!

You’re correct…calling it pizza is an insult to real pizza, LOL
Best pizza I’ve had to date is at Farrelli’s in Tacoma, WA – it’s a shame that it’s three hours from where I live, but that makes it even more of a treat.
