Blogger Recognition Award!

I won’t do the official nominating thing because I’m late to this, and I think that some people might be getting overloaded with awards…not to mention, many blogs I follow are “award-free,” so they wouldn’t accept a nomination. With that, on with the show!

1. Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. (See opening paragraph)

2. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.

3. Write a post to show your award.

4. Give a brief story of how your blog started.

5. Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.

6. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

7. Attach the award badge to the post through whichever means work for you!

8. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them.

9. Provide a link to the original post on DebWasHere

Here we go:
Since this was an “unofficial” nomination, I will leave the nominations open because people are still busy during this first full week of 2016. There are many, many, many blogs that deserve this award: 170, if I count all of the blogs that I follow because that is how many follow me. If you made it here, found this post and read this far, you’re at the top of the list.

How my Blog started:
This blog is the third one I’ve had, and the third time was the charm. I began it as a means to document issues that were cropping up at my workplace at the time, and it was a nice outlet for what I was feeling. At the same time, the “writer’s block” I was dealing with vanished, because I decided to write my autobiography instead of completing some works on fiction that were sitting and stagnating. I’ll return to the fiction, most definitely, but my tale has been screaming to be told so I’m telling it.

Advice for new bloggers:
I’m not sure that I have any good advice for new bloggers. I’ve been writing this blog for 5 years now, but only in the past year have I gotten any traffic and followers. I suppose reading and following other blogs is a good start; otherwise, this online socializing stuff is a mystery to me.
