Jebus H. Cripes in a chariot-driven sidecar…Ron ‘Metta World Peace’ Artest, you lowlife, shit-for-brains fucktard. What the fuck was THAT?!? Huh? Really – WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!?!? Let’s look at it again, one more time…slo-mo this time. Check it out. Look at it. Afterwards, we will analyze the actions and I’ll illustrate why I feel it was not accidental. I haven’t watched any sports shows, listened to any talk shows, or read any news articles, commentaries, or other blogs about this – I wanted to try to be as unbiased as possible, and only state my opinion about it.
Accidental, my happy ass…that was a completely deliberate, flagrant, egregious elbow to the head of one Mr. James Harden, who as of today, is still not cleared to play. He could be out for the rest of the season; he was taken off of the court and has a severe concussion, and I do believe that the blow could easily be a career-ending one – there is a small chance that an injury like that could render him unable to play professional sports ever again. And for what? What did he do to offend Artest’s delicate fucking sensibilities? Gawds – absolutely nothing. He didn’t do a gawddamned thing.
Artest’s teammates must be fucking blind. I’ll never understand the herd mentality of some; gathering forces to defend the indefensible and protecting the offenders and aggressors, while leaving the victims to swing in the wind or leave them crushed under the bus that someone decided to throw them under. Artest claiming that he “got excited” and it was “the heat of the moment”; Kobe “Can’t Keep It In His Pants” Bryant claiming that Artest meant no harm and was just celebrating – yeah, Kobe, he’s a perfect angel and a shining star, right? Well, from what I could see, it was quite the malicious action.
For one, when Artest thumped his chest, his elbows did not fly out uncontrollably; they were tucked tight to his body in a posturing display, so that renders that argument moot.
Secondly, you can see that Artest sees Harden coming towards him. Harden was not charging him aggressively; he lightly bumped into Artest’s back, and it was not an angry, deliberate slam – he had his arms up in a “hey, it’s cool,” type of motion, with the backs of his hands facing Artest, fingers slightly curled but not clenched into fists, and he lightly tapped Artest as if to say, “nice move, way to go – game’s going good, right?” From there, you see the body language of Artest go into complete attack mode.
His face screws up in rage and he cocks his elbow as he turns his body slightly, as if trying to evade Harden. He tenses that arm and, using the extra power added by the torque of his torso, flings it back in a calculated, violent motion – connecting viciously with Harden’s left ear and the side of his head. Anyone who has watched any sort of fight, especially boxing matches or martial-arts exhibitions (judo, tae kwon do, jiujutsu and the like, becomes familiar with the way the body flexes and moves when preparing an attack or goes on the defense. There is no doubt that Artest whammed Harden upside the head because he felt like doing so, and feels no shame about it whatsoever. The way his teammates have circled the wagons around him remind me of my former office environment: the bad-behaving infants were coddled and protected, and their unprofessional attitude was overlooked and/or justified. You want to know something funny? I’d recently called some of my former co-workers to touch base with them and exchange contact information. I was let go near the end of January. It is now nearly May, and they still have not corrected and updated the company directory on the telephone system. If that isn’t the epitome of ‘unprofessional’, then I don’t know what is. Too hilarious…that never happened on my watch! Circle the freakin’ wagons…
Anyway, I digress: Ronald ‘Metta World Peace’ Artest should be ejected from the NBA – immediately. He should be fined a large sum of money – immediately. He should face criminal charges – immediately. He should be fully responsible for Harden’s current and future medical bills. He is a disgusting excuse for a human being and should never be allowed to play professional sports again. This isn’t Michael Vick doing harm to a few dogs – this was a violent assault on another human being. This is the disgusting type of ‘thug’ behavior that besmirches the good name of sports. Artest showed no honor, sportsmanship, or humanity. He should pay for that assault, and make full restitution to Harden. I don’t think there’s any argument about that.
Oh, incidentally, to the moron who tried to post a comment saying that Artest “should be killed” for what he did – guess what, moron, you have been reported. Making a death threat is a bit of an overreaction, wouldn’t you agree? Do you feel he should die because he’s black, or do you really feel that his cowardly action warrants the loss of life? Sounds like you’re trying to be a race-baiting piece of shit, to me…I mean, if you REALLY believe that his unprovoked elbowing of James Harden is an offense that demands capital punishment, then I suggest you look at these charmers and tell me if they should die for what they did as well. I suppose the first example is moot, as that train-wreck Amy Winehouse wasted herself last year:
Also, here’s that ice-princess from Iceland, Bjork, acting out for no reason – what a talentless joke that worthless slag is:
Paparazzi and controversies
Björk has complained of being hounded by paparazzi. In 1996, Björk arrived at Bangkok International Airport with her son Sindri after a long haul flight when Julie Kaufman, a female reporter, greeted Björk with “Welcome to Bangkok”, which was then followed by Björk attacking her and knocking her to the ground. Björk has said that the reason for the attack was that the reporters in the airport started talking to her son, saying such things as “It must be hard to be the son of a pop star.” Björk’s record company also said that the reporter had been pestering Björk for four days. Björk later apologized to Kaufman, who declined to involve the police. On 13 January 2008, Björk attacked a photographer who had photographed her arrival at Auckland International Airport in New Zealand for her scheduled performance at the Big Day Out festival. Björk allegedly tore the photographer’s shirt down the back, and in the process she fell to the ground. Neither the photographer nor his employer, The New Zealand Herald, lodged a formal complaint, and Auckland police did not investigate further.
Some people need to keep things in proper perspective.
